How reconciliation works in FIZ

  1. Automatic matching

FIZ compares the amount, the date and the customer or supplier name. It also recognises a payment net of withholding tax (retenção na fonte).

  2. Suggestions to confirm

When several transactions are possible, FIZ shows the most likely one. Confirm it with one click.

  3. Several invoices, several payments

FIZ adds up the payments linked to each invoice and shows what is left. When you link a transfer to several invoices, FIZ splits it across them, oldest first.

Unmatched invoices and transactions

Invoices without a linked payment

On the invoice, FIZ lists the most likely transactions first. Pick one and the link is done.

Transactions without a linked document

When you upload the missing invoice, FIZ looks for the right transaction. For taxes, Seg. Social, salaries and transfers between your bank accounts, the category FIZ suggests is enough, with no invoice.

What is left to collect from each customer and pay each supplier?

FIZ groups the invoices and payments of each customer and supplier and shows what has been paid and what is left to collect or pay.

Frequently asked questions about bank reconciliation

How does FIZ match invoices to transactions?

Automatically when the amount agrees, the date is close, the name fits and only one transaction is possible. A partial payment, or one that covers several invoices, is not linked automatically: pick it from the list of transactions on the invoice.

Does the amount left to collect or pay account for withholding tax?

Yes. On an invoice with withholding tax (retenção na fonte), the payer transfers the total minus the tax withheld. FIZ treats the invoice as paid once it finds a transaction for that amount.

What does an invoice without a linked payment mean?

It means FIZ has not found the payment yet: it may not have been made yet, may not have come in from the bank yet, or may have gone through an account not connected to FIZ. A cash payment can be recorded in FIZ and linked to the invoice.

Are invoices already in FIZ included in reconciliation?

Yes. Invoices issued in FIZ, those FIZ receives from AT and those you forward by email or upload as PDF, PNG or JPG are included automatically. Transactions come in through your bank connection or the statements you upload.
